Steps to Create an Article

Each article you create will first appear in the application as a card on the browsing screen of the selected category. Every article consists of two parts: a card and one or more pages. The image below shows an example of the browsing screen for the Story category.

Steps to Creating an Article

One quirk to point out about Contentfull is that it will save automatically as you work. Even is you open any template in Contentful, an Article, page, or media asset template contentful will save a draft of it. Even if you do not edit the template. is will stil show up as "untitled".

Step 1: Open the Content View

Open Content View in Contentful Dashboard, located in the upper-left corner of the screen.

Step 2: Select an Article Template

Select Add Entry → Article Template

Step 3: Complete the Article Template

To create a new Article Template, complete the following sections:

• Article Card: Title, Subtitle, Image, Card Style, Media Icons, Tags

• Category Assignment: Assign at least one category

• Search Filters: Apply relevant filters

• Pages: Add one or more pages

• Featured Articles: Optional

• Related Articles: Optional

Note on Contentful Auto-Save: Contentful automatically saves drafts as you work. Even if you open a template (Article, Page, or Media Asset) and make no edits, Contentful will still create a draft labeled “Untitled.”

Step 4: Publish the Article template

Note: All articles, article pages, and any page media (such as images with focal points) must be published to appear in the app.

If any required items are missing, Contentful will display an error message.
