Importing Images

You can add images to both article cards and article pages using the same five basic steps. These steps also apply—with slight variations—when adding media types like audio, video, or PDFs to an article page.

Step 1: Click the Open file selector button in the File field. Or simply drag and drop a file into this window.

Step 2: Choose an image from your device or from an available source in the left panel. Accepted formats are JPG and PNG.

Most commonly, you'll upload images from your desktop or a local server.

Step 3: Wait for Contentful to process the image.

If processing fails, you’ll see an error message.

Step 4: Once processed, the image will appear in the File preview window.

Step 5: Click the green Publish button in the upper-right corner of the screen to publish the Image Template, once the image is uploaded and visible in the File window.

Reminder: Both the Image Template and the Focal Point Image Template must be published for the image to appear in the app.

If any required fields are missing, Contentful will display an error message.
